The Brief:
Multi-stage campus renewal over 6 stages
EIW Architects was engaged by Christian Brothers College (CBC) Fremantle to deliver a multi-stage campus renewal program, implementing key priorities from the College’s broader masterplan. Delivered across six coordinated stages, the Stage 3 works focused on upgrading learning environments, improving accessibility and circulation, and enhancing the performance of existing heritage buildings within a live school environment.
The program was carefully staged to minimise disruption to ongoing school operations, with works sequenced across multiple buildings and timeframes and included:
>Refurbishment of Year 7 classrooms with enclosed verandahs to create breakout learning areas
>Improved visibility, supervision, and security across learning spaces
>Reconfiguration of visual arts, music, and general classrooms
>Expansion of visual arts facilities and introduction of junior science spaces
>Upgrade of science laboratories with new preparation and staff areas
>Major campus circulation improvements including new lift, compliant stairs, and covered walkways
>Accessibility and compliance upgrades, including stair replacements and heritage-coordinated works
