Bowden Cellars is a hospitality and retail precinct venue that demonstrates EIW’s ability to deliver commercially successful and community-focused spaces. Located within Plant 3, an adaptive re-use warehouse in Bowden, the project transformed an empty tenancy into a wine bar, retail bottle shop, mezzanine function space, outdoor courtyard, and micro commercial kitchen

The design carefully balanced budget constraints with high-quality outcomes, using demountable joinery and efficient partitioning to maximise flexibility and value. By securing dual liquor licenses and designing for operational separation, Bowden Cellars supports both retail trade and hospitality activation, proving adaptable to different customer groups and community needs. Importantly, the venue is as much a social hub as a commercial one — hosting tastings, events, and casual gatherings. It was recognised with the People’s Choice at the 2022 Wineslinger Awards, highlighting its success in creating a destination embraced by the wider community.

Notable spaces include:

Main wine bar, with internal entry point to dedicated retail bottle shop

Micro commercial kitchen

Mezzanine / private function area

Outdoor dining courtyard
