The Gateway Project, incorporating a new sports centre, administration and performing arts centre at Vientiane International School is now complete.
The entry statement incorporates the school’s treasured emblem and provides a beautiful gateway into the Vientiane International School campus. The new gymnasium has been designed to respond to the tropical climate with passive + mechanical ventilation and an abundance of natural light.
EIW Architects are driven by connecting community, responding to the local culture in a meaningful way and exploring how the UN Sustainable Development Goals can be integrated into projects. We are thrilled to be seeing some early outcomes realised and excited to watch the way the community evolves its learning programs to embrace the potential of the built environment.
The project was carried out in collaboration and remotely with Laos Consulting Group (LCG) in Vientiane, with our team here in Australia unable to visit due to travel restrictions. Whilst challenging for all, the synergy between the two companies is exemplified by the great outcome which we are all very proud of.
The VIS Campus Gateway project was officially opened by the Minister for Education and US Ambassador to Laos on February 25th, 2023
