Trinity at UWA is a residential college for students and provides facilities for meetings and professional development. The original buildings required significant upgrading to develop a high quality entrance foyer, increase the profile from the street, and provide usable gathering spaces for guests and functions.
The previous space between the buildings was constricted, open to the elements and whilst being used as a forecourt and breakout area for visitors, it presented poorly.
Incorporated into the design are seating alcoves, transparency to external gardens, natural light and ventilation with the warmth of timber being used as feature acoustic panelling on both floors. The choice of materials complements the existing buildings but sets a new standard of finish to be used as a pre-cursor to continual renewal projects around Trinity, including the upgrading of the residential wings.
