PROJECT DESCRIPTION

As part of the federally-funded BER programme, Tranby College added a purpose-built sports centre to their new facilities. The new building incorporates a single sports court with a stage to enable utilisation by the School for whole of school events, with dance /drama space behind. The new sports surface has the ability to spill out to the adjacent College oval for sports activities. Built into a bank, the new facility includes classrooms and a kitchenette area upstairs for public events. While constructed in a modern style with precast concrete panels, the colours used on the external of the building relate back to the traditional face brickwork of adjacent buildings. A vibrant colour scheme internally reflects the excitement of the new space and creates a connection between the bright sports flooring and the classrooms upstairs.
